The Market is open from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm every Saturday and is Taupo’s first official farmers-type market. Since the market opened in late June 2006, FreshBake has developed a loyal following with many regular retail customers coming for products each week. This farmers-type outlet for fresh breads is expected to grow and grow. However, because of severe back injuries, the baker-owner of FreshBake has had to put his successful business on to the market. Retail Market:
The retail shop at the front of the bakery sells mostly to customers from the surrounding industrial area. Other retail sales are via the Settlers Market on Saturdays. Leasehold premises FreshBake Ltd trades from leasehold premises (about 780 square metres) at 243 Tauhara Road in Taupo's main industrial area. The bakery (265 square metres) is a concrete block building, with a brick front and an iron roof. It is divided in a front retail area (20 square metres) and a rear bakery with separate office, male and a female staff toilets, and a storage area of 10 square metres. There is ample room for customer parking.
