We provides top quality ski transport from Methven Canterbury NZ to Mt Hutt ski area. The journey is 27km each way and take approximately 35-40 minutes. The Vehicles used are 4wd small shuttles which are well suited to the Mt Hutt road and pick up clients from their Methven accommodation Door to door.
All the vehicles we use are specially equipped with 4wd tyres good for snow, mud or rock ideal for the Mt Hutt Road. All vehicles come with good quality snow chains.
We also can provide transport to other ski areas, Mt Potts, Porter Heights, and Mt Dobson and an evening
Charter service for Terrace Downs, Airport pick-ups and drops offs arranged (Terrace Downs ski pick ups can be arranged). We are agents for Mt Hutt ski products they can be sold to customers e.g. lift passes, ski rental, clothing rental and lessons. These ski products could be sold from the web site prior to peoples holidays.

The local ski Industry
Methven is the service town to Mt Hutt ski area.Methven is also a thriving agricultural area growing crops on the fertile Canterbury plains and only 1hr 15mins from Christchurch and it's International airport.
Mt Hutt was opened and developed as a ski area in the early 1970's as a result Methven as grown in to a major ski area town. The ski area has always required transport to it as it is 27km's from Methven and 14 km's of which are on an unsealed Mt Road.
Ride Snow Shuttles is one of 3 operators which go to Mt Hutt from Methven,the other two services are less flexible as they only use larger, slower less economic vehicles, Generally we will work with these companies if the need arises.
In the 2007 season and we were $25 return per day child rate $20, specials run at certain times of the season if required
Methven with its unique international village atmosphere has it all - big enough to have a wide range of activities and attractions, yet small enough to be really friendly and relaxed.
Methven is also called Mt Hutt village and has stunning scenery and views as it is situated on the edge of the foot hills of the southern alps and the mighty braided Rakaia River.

For the non skier, Methven has it's own 18 hole golf course that is considered to be one of the best country courses in New Zealand, with spectacular mountain views and tree lined fairways. The region boasts half a dozen great courses that are only a thirty-minute drive away, including the international golf resort of Terrace Downs.
Methven is a central location to access great trout or salmon fishing spots in local lakes and rivers. Experienced local guides are available that can tailor-make a fishing or hunting package to suit guest skills or ambitions.
There are several scenic walks and nature tours in the Methven area including the Rakaia Gorge Walkway that passes through forest and shrub above a spectacular gorge and near several old coalmine shafts. The Mt Somers Conservation Area offers the Mt Somers Subalpine Walkway, one of New Zealand's top ten walkways.
