Persia Restaurant business Greymouth South Island private sale

Come to Persia for a Taste of the World

"The dinner was incredible, the cuisine was definitely the best we've had in New Zealand!" - testimonial from Ken and Austin Anderson, San Clemente, CA USA (28.12.06).

"Just fantastic, a very memorable experience - made our weekend, thank you." Linda Findlay and Phil Burton, Timaru (5.8.06).

… and so the testimonials continue, all supporting the authentic cuisine and great service offered by Persia Restaurant in Greymouth.

Persia Restaurant was borne out of the owner's dream to open the first restaurant on the West Coast with an affordable, gourmet, international menu. With Platters from every Continent, generous portions and reasonable prices, Persia Restaurant is popular with locals and tourists, alike.

Popular cafe, restaurant and wine bar

Persia Restaurant offers relaxed and comfortable surroundings, great service and gourmet food. Staff wear Egyptian jallibeyas (traditional dresses) at night and are renowned for providing excellent customer service. They are also trained as baristas by the Underground Coffee Company from Christchurch and make great coffees.

Persia Restaurant has been a labour of love for the two owners. They are now looking for a new owner for their business who can carry on with their tradition of authentic regional foods served in pleasant surroundings. Alternatively, there is the opportunity for the new owners to create their own style of restaurant from this established venue.

Many International visitors have commented that they have never seen a restaurant like it anywhere in the world.

Café, restaurant and wine bar offering authentic Eastern cuisine

Persia Restaurant was created from a dream. The dream was to travel to far and distant lands via traditional dishes cooked with fresh herbs and spices. Dishes such as:

Greymouth and the West Coast of the South Island

The West Coast, with about 33,000 people, extends from Karamea in the north to Jackson Bay in the south. Greymouth is the major town and the main administrative and commercial centre for the whole region.

Greymouth has a population of about 10,000 and is the base for many of the region’s industries – most notably coal mining at nearby Runanga and Dobson, gold mining, native and plantation forestry, timber processing, farming and farm processing, and food and beverage products. The town centre also has a great range of small specialty and tourist shops as well as all the main national chain stores. Greymouth is also famous for its numerous and hospitable hotels and bars.

There is much to see and do around Greymouth including trout fishing, hunting, seal and dolphin watching, white water rafting, walking and tramping. The region is steeped in history and the rugged beauty has inspired many artists and creative people. The town has a popular Art Gallery and History House and Greymouth is the terminus for the famous Tranz Alpine train from Christchurch. The town is also a busy centre for coaches and shuttles taking visitors on tours to other destinations on the West Coast and on to Nelson.
