Taupo, New Zealand

Bed and Breakfast and Farm Stay
Taupo is one of New Zealand’s favourite holiday destinations that offers something for everyone:
- Bustling shopping precinct with cafes, restaurants and dramatic mountain views across LakeTaupo.
- World renowned trout fishing on Lake Taupo and tributary rivers.
- Adventure sports including skydiving, bungy jumping, and winter skiing at the Tongariro National Park.
- Scenic excursions to the awesome Huka Falls and nearby Wairakei geothermal wonderland.
- Sporting and cultural events and festivals nearly every weekend.
Around 2.25 million visitors come to Taupo each year. These numbers are expected to grow to 2.45 million visitors in 2013 - an increase of 10.3% on current levels. Most of these visitors are New Zealanders (79 per cent) and nearly all want accommodation during their stay.
Brackenhurst is a Bed and Breakfast accommodation business on 14 acres of peaceful countryside just to the north of Taupo township. Brackenhurst also provides self-contained accommodation in a separate annex and in a nearby cottage. The self-contained accommodation offers away-from-home comforts and is popular with families wanting a Farm Stay option, plus equestrian people and travellers.

Downstairs double bedroom for guests
The property is 12 minutes north of Taupo township, two minutes from State Highway One, and 5 minutes from Wairakei Thermal Park. Brackenhurst is in easy reach of the Waikato River, Huka Falls, five golf courses, geothermal activity, and the ski-fields on Mt Ruapehu. Rotorua, Waitomo Caves, and the Hawkes Bay wine country are all a pleasant days outing from Brackenhurst.
Brackenhurst is being sold on a walk-in walk-out basis by committed vendors who are moving away from the Taupo Region. The business sale includes forward bookings and all normal household chattels.
This B&B business enjoys an exceptional occupancy rate and returns a net profit of $30,000 with a further $20,000 coming from the sale of cattle that are reared on the property. It offers the best of both worlds – peaceful county tranquillity while being close to a thriving tourist town.
