The business employs 10 staff including part time workers and the
two owner-operators. One owner-operator manages the operation of the
retail area while the other has responsibility for all office work and
financial accounting. As part
of the Franchise Agreement, Mitre 10 holds regular training sessions
for staff in Wellington. Staff are skilled in all aspects of the
business and can be left to run the store on their own. This means that the
owner-operators are able to take weekends off for leisure
pursuits. The present
owner-operators are prepared to stay on for one month after
settlement, if required, to assist the new owner to settle in. Offices:
Two open plan offices are strategically positioned within the store's retail space. This allows for maximum exchange between staff,
customers and management. Offices are equipped with phones, fax, computers,
printers and a computerised stock accounting system along with the usual office
fittings and stationery. Store
counters are fitted with electronic cash registers and EFTPOS
